Description
Users are unable to set project budgets to zero. After setting budgets to zero at the task level, the amounts revert to their previous values at the task and project summary levels. This issue is currently affecting all projects in the Production environment.
A support ticket has been opened with Oracle.
2/27/26 Update: A workaround is now available.
Workaround
There are two methods to resolve this issue depending on the project type.
Method 1: For Non-Sponsored Projects
- In the Projects Financial Management module, click the project in question and select Manage Project Budget.
- Click the Current Working Version of the project budget.
- Set budget values to zero to eliminate the budget at the task level.
- Click the drop-down arrow next to the Save button and select Save and Close.
- Re-open the Current Working Version and review the budget.
- If the total amount is still not zero, then:
- Go back to the Current Working Version of the project budget.
- Click Actions > Refresh Rates.
- Click OK on both the Refresh Rate window and subsequent 'Warning' pop-up.
- Navigate to Review Project Performance and verify that the budget displays zero.
Note: If the screen does not reflect the update, submit a Service Now ticket. Include the project ID and note that the 'Review Project Performance' data is incorrect.
Method 2: For Sponsored Projects
- Submit a ticket to Service Delivery (or the IT Service Desk).
- In the request, identify the specific project.
- Clearly specify that the budget must be cleared for all tasks, setting the total amount to 0.00.
