Attachment Functionality Comes to FITS

Attachment functionality, one of the most requested features since the release of FITS, is scheduled for release on August 20, 2025. With this enhancement, users can attach supporting documentation to their transactions, and approvers will be able to open and review these files. FITS will accept Word, Excel, PDF, and Text files.

Attachment Basics

The Attachment option becomes available after you save your session. Once you click Save, the option to add attachments will appear.

Approvers can open attachments after the transaction has been submitted.

Good to Know

• Attachments cannot be deleted once a journal request has been submitted.
• Additional attachments cannot be added once a journal request has been submitted.
• New attachments can be added when reversing a recharge journal because the reversal creates a new journal.

FITS documentation has been updated to include details about the new attachment functionality. Updates have been incorporated across the following KBAs:

Explains how to add and delete attachments when creating a recharge journal.

KB0011920 – Approve Recharge Journals in FITS (Department Approvers)
Details how approvers can download and view attachments in journals they are reviewing.

KB0011913 – Display Saved Recharge Journals in FITS
Explains how to recall saved but not submitted recharge journals you created. Because they are not yet submitted, you can still add or delete attachments.

KB0011919 – Reverse Recharge Journals in FITS
Explains that you can add attachments when reversing a recharge journal because the reversal creates a new journal. You cannot add or delete attachments from the original journal.

KB0011918 – Search for Recharge Journals in FITS
Explains that if a search result lists saved journals you created, you can add and delete attachments. For all other results, you can only view or download attachments.
