Tips to Prepare for Aggie Enterprise Go-Live

As the UC Davis finance, planning and business operations community gears up for Aggie Enterprise go-live, it is important for individual users to be prepared with the resources and support needed to be successful in the new system.

Here are three tips to help users prepare for day one in Aggie Enterprise:

A Message From Vice Chancellor Clare Shinnerl

On Sept. 21, 2023, UC Davis Finance, Operations and Administration Vice Chancellor Clare Shinnerl sent the following message to future Aggie Enterprise users:

Dear Colleagues,

As we draw close to our go-live date of Jan. 1, 2024, I want to emphasize the critical importance of training and hands-on experience with Aggie Enterprise. These final months leading up to go-live are a pivotal phase in our project, and our success hinges on our readiness.

Here are some ways to prepare:

New Workgroup Advises on Aggie Enterprise Training

In Jan. 2023, the Aggie Enterprise Training Workgroup, led by Erica Aichwalder, was appointed to guide end-user training for the Oracle Cloud Financials implementation. Comprising representatives from various departments, the workgroup aims to optimize training methods and tools for a successful go-live.

Aggie Enterprise Project Timeline Extension

On Nov. 8, Vice Chancellor Clare Shinnerl, Assistant Vice Chancellor Matt Okamoto and Assistant Vice Chancellor Radhika Prabhu sent a message to Aggie Enterprise stakeholders about the decision to extend the project timeline, moving the go-live date from July 1, 2023, to Jan. 1, 2024. This one-time extension was granted after consultation and feedback from leadership, stakeholders and the Aggie Enterprise Project Management Office.

Aggie Enterprise Data Conversion

As we move forward through the final sprint of the Build phase, work streams continue their review of user stories, partnering with stakeholders to validate system configuration.

To support these efforts and prepare for testing, functional leads and the Data Conversion team are engaged in iterative data conversion exercises to ensure that information extracted from legacy systems loads and converts into Oracle correctly.
